Radioactive bluefin tuna has been found in American waters. The tuna in question were found to be harboring the radioactive isotopes cesium-134 and cesium-137 which they picked up in ocean waters and prey they fed on contaminated by the Fukushima Dai-ichi reactors in Japan. In a Time Health article titled “Radioactive Bluefin Tuna Traveled to U.S.”, reporter Alicia Chang noted that “The levels of radioactive cesium were 10 times higher than the amount measured in tuna off the California coast in previous years. But even so, that’s still far below safe-to-eat limits set by the U.S. and Japanese governments.” Click this link to read the entire Time Health article: http://ti.me/JKVsZF
Is there anything one can eat or drink that might offset radiation exposure to some degree? There is. Dr. Steenblock created this compendium of measures not long after the March 2011 magnitude-9 tsunami that crippled the Fukushima Dai-ichi reactors: http://bit.ly/JSqFUg
